Founded by friends of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) in North America, the Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation of America (KMFA) has for more than two decades served as a vital bridge between the United States and Ukraine. From its inception, the Foundation has been dedicated to supporting the rebirth and long-term strengthening of modern higher education in Ukraine.

Through sustained philanthropy and partnership, KMFA expands access to quality education by funding need- and merit-based scholarships, enabling talented Ukrainian students to pursue undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies at NaUKMA. The Foundation also supports academic research, international collaboration, and pedagogical innovation that enhance Ukraine’s intellectual capital and civic capacity.

In response to Russia’s ongoing war of aggression, KMFA has played a critical role in providing emergency assistance to students and faculty, investing in digital infrastructure to ensure continuity of learning and research, and advancing programs that reinforce democratic governance, human rights, and civic engagement. KMFA’s impact extends beyond campus through initiatives such as veteran leadership development, community programs, and convenings that strengthen ties among alumni, scholars, civil society, and partners across the United States and Europe—investing in the future leaders of a free, resilient, and democratic Ukraine.
