We send greetings to the freshman class of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy! More than 1100 new students entered their university life and will study in an offline format, meeting each other on campus. Every academic year at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy starts with lectures from renowned speakers to introduce the freshmen to the values of the KMA community.

Every academic year at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy begins with a ceremonious opening lecture. This year's speaker was the eminent historian Dr. Serhiy Plokhy, Director of the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute, author of best-selling books such as “The Gates of Europe, “The Last Empire”, “The Russo Ukrainian War”, and others.

On June 23, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy along with the Ukrainian Strategic Initiative (USI) research and education center and the Polish Institute of International Affairs organized a public meeting with international expert Elliot Cohen

On June 10 KMA Students came together in the atmosphere of cultural expression and art on a festival, which took place on the campus and recreated the values of the legendary festival “VyVykh” in Lviv.

On June 30 KMA Student Board arranged a meeting with Azov battalion members, which took place on the KMA campus.

Bizhan Sharopov laid down his life as a hero in April 2022 fighting the enemy in the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, 11th Separate Rapid Respose Battalion (Special Purpose Unit).

Professor Oleksiy Haran from KMA has been awarded the British Empire Medal for his contribution to the Ukrainian-British partnership. Kostiantyn Sihov, Director of the KMA Center of European Humanities research, was awarded a medal for contributions to the advancement of science by the Scientific Society of the Czech Republic.

Even though this May was a stressful time for Kyiv, life on the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy’s Campus goes on. The Ambassador of Austria, Mr. Arad Benkjo, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mr. Jennes de Mol visited the Academy on May 23 and May 26.

KMA students join the Computer Science Program at the University of Toronto and publish their research.

Last year Kyiv-Mohyla Academy welcomed more than 1000 new students and this year we are ready to meet entrants on campus again. About 1000 people, including entrants and their families, attended Open Day on Academy’s campus on May 27.
